Buy Locally & Give Creatively

I love to shop at the farmer’s market in the summer because it’s fresh, local, and inexpensive.  (Pardon me while I daydream… staring out the window at the snow.) It’s obviously important to support local businesses and I find it’s a great way to give frugal, yet meaningful gifts.

Remember I raved about Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters HERE?  Well, I recently went back because I love the Saturday morning atmosphere, the smell of the roaster in action, I needed an Awesome Chocolate fix, and I wanted more coffee!  Plus, I had an idea for those plain brown bags…

So I made a quick tag with some embellishments I had laying around… (maybe give it a Valentines twist for your favorite coffee lover?)

I think it’s an easy, inexpensive gift for an out-of-town guest, a client, or a hostess!  Give them a taste of Grand Rapids and they’ll come back for more, right?

Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters is open to the public Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm and the special is 2 lbs. of freshly roasted coffee for $16.95.  Details: Website | Facebook | Twitter.  (Note: this is not some sort of compensated review.  The poor guy didn’t ask for my opinion, so don’t hold it against him!)

    Jolon, you go girl! What a great idea -maybe that’s why you are such a famous blogger. Speaking of Valentine’s Day, Henry of Awesome Chocolates will have red, heart-shapped boxes of his chocolates available at my shop on Saturday Feb 13th! Thank you for the kind words – hope to see you soon.

    haha! Maybe someday I’ll be famous… in the meantime I’ll just keep posting about free samples and coupons AND GREAT COFFEE, of course!

    Now I am feeling bad that I gave my daughter’s teachers plain old bags of coffee for Christmas. I needed this then!! :) Great to meet you tonight. 2 days til BLISSDOM!!
