Have you used a restaurant.com gift certificate? Care to share your experience in the comments?

I have used restaurants.com before. I bought several about a year ago when their was another great sale like you’ve mentioned here. I would just caution others to keep an eye out on their bank or credit card statements. When you agree to the terms and condtions of restaurants.com, you are also agreeing to sign up for some crazy website that will charge your account once a month until you cancel it. As soon as I saw a strange charge on my statement, I called the company that had made the charge to figure out what was going on. They were polite and reimbursed the charge when I explained that I wanted to cancel and never even wanted that service. But that situation definately makes me hesitant to purchase from restaurants.com again. We’ve used our gift certificates, and it was a good deal, but I don’t think it was worth the hastle and risk of losing money.
Sarah,
Thanks for sharing your experience and sorry you had trouble. Perhaps the program has changed since you last participated several years ago.
If you ever click through a link to restaurant.com here on my page, you should never have trouble being “signed up” for automatic programs/payments. You don’t have to agree to crazy terms/conditions. It’s a one-time purchase. I have purchased MANY MANY gift certificates for myself and as gifts and have never had trouble. It’s a legitimate deal.
