Join Me in the Food Budget Challenge!

Thanks for visiting!  Special thanks to WZZM 13′s Phil Dawson for chatting with me about the different aspects of frugal living I talk about here on Savvy Chic Savings.

I’m so excited to begin the $25/wk Food Budget Challenge.  I’ve laid some of the ground work here, and the Challenge starts next week.  I’d love to have you join me on January 9, 2011!  The budget amount will be different for everyone, but I can help provide you with meal planning, budgeting tools, coupons & sales to find great prices at our local grocery stores, and, most importantly, we can give each other feedback.

If you’d like to read via RSS or get my daily email, it will be very easy for you to follow along.  You can also find me on facebook and twitter.

Let’s get to it! :)

PS In case you missed it, you can catch the WSNX interview audio here.

    • Haha, thanks Woman! Can I confess I have never been to an Aldi? There is one fairly close by and I hear they have great produce at low prices. I’m wondering if that’s the place to go for produce during these cold winter months in MI?

  1. I don’t know about produce, but Aldi likes to clear out old SKUs for new SKUs on a regular basis, thus marking down stuff to ridiculous prices (like .19¢ for canned tomatoes, and .25¢ for a jar of pesto sauce) Yes, I have a case of both.

For produce, if y’all have a Mexican grocer, that’d be where I’d look for cheap produce. That at least holds true down south here. Same produce for 1/3 the price. I have no idea why.
