#WFMW: Getting FREE Coupon Inserts

Works for Me Wednesday

grand rapids press free couponsAs long as I’ve lived here, there have been a stack of these Grand Rapids Press Express in the laundry room on Saturday mornings.  Sometimes they have the Smart Source inserts inside; sometimes they don’t.  It’s a nice way to get extra FREE coupon inserts when they’re available.

Where and how do you get extra coupon inserts for FREE? Ask friends and family who don’t use them? Dig through recycle bins? Have a coupon exchange box at work?  Share your secrets with us. :)

FREE (or Under $1) Items Using Coupons

I have heard “coupons aren’t for anything I use” way too many times.  They are!  What amazes me most is that people often say it though they know my story and that I once got $761 in national-brand products completely FREE at a drugstore in ONE month.  I guess coupons aren’t for everyone.

NO MATTER HOW YOU EAT, there are personal care and household items you can get for under $1, and often FREE, by stacking coupons.  These are not generic, crappy brands.  They’re quality brands that you’d pay a fortune for if you just threw them in your cart at regular price.

1.  Razors

2.  Deodorant

3.  Body Wash

4.  Body Lotion

5.  Shampoo/Conditioner*

6.  Tooth paste

7.  Tooth brushes

8.  Dental floss

9.  Feminine hygiene products

10.  Cough & cold products

I was couponing hardcore in the fall of 2009, and to be honest, I coasted through 2010 by shopping at home.  I didn’t purchase ANY of the above items all year.  Now my stash is dwindling and it’s time to rebuild.  Stick with me for the next few months and we’ll do it together, ok?  (Subscribing via rss or daily email is recommended.)

*This is the one exception to what I just stated above.  I still use salon-brand hair care products.  My mom has her cosmetologist’s license and I get it at cost.  Hey, everyone has their “must-haves”, right?
