We’ve talked about a number of ways to save on hotels for business or vacation travel, but have you thought about using Groupon? I have upcoming trips to Detroit, Chicago, Boston, and Portland, ME. By checking the major deal sites for these cities DAILY, but not just for restaurants and entertainment, I’ve booked some amazing hotels at a great price!
A room at the Atlantic House Hotel is $225 per night, but with Groupon we paid only $99.
 We saved 48% on our Detroit accommodations; only $42 for the night.

*I like to purchase local coffee in bulk. Fresh coffee is key, so I asked about the best way to store it. Storing in a cool, dry place for short periods of time works best to preserve the oils. (Moisture, light, air and heat are coffee killers.) Beyond that, well-sealed coffee can be stored in the freezer for a few weeks. Never refrigerate coffee.

 I talk about cash-back sites a lot. It’s an easy way to save money without having to clip coupons. It’s really the only way to save on things you don’t have coupons for. If you’re going to shop a brick & mortar location, why not buy from them online to earn cash back instead – especially if you can get FREE shipping?
My favorite site is Ebates. Get a $5 sign-up bonus when you create a new account and save at over 1,200 stores. I’ve earned over $175 cash back (in my paypal account – but you could choose a check in the mail) from Ebates so far.
