Save Over $100 with a Wine Club

This deal is still available. Don’t miss it!

If you aren’t afraid of trying a few new bottles and varieties, wine clubs can be perfect! I joined the WSJ club in the past, tried varieties of red, and loved every bottle.  Here’s what you need to know:

  • You will get a low-priced introductory offer and free gift(s) for the initial shipment.  Save over $100 for the case!  Approx $7.50 per bottle when you factor in shipping.
  • You will be enrolled in the club. The membership means you’ll automatically receive subsequent (substantially higher-priced) shipments.  You CAN cancel your membership after receiving the initial shipment if you so choose.
  • If your state laws requires the wine to be delivered by private courier, be prepared to wait a little longer to receive your shipment.  Free gifts may be delivered separately. Someone 18+ must sign for the package. (When I did the WSJ offer, it took about 4 weeks to receive my order. That probably will vary depending on your location and which club you choose.)
  • You can do ALL of these offers if you want to!  Choose from mixed, whites, or reds cases.

Wine Club Deals:

  • WSJwine.com - 12 bottles for $69.99, $19.99 shipping + applicable tax, FREE accessories kit including lever-action corkscrew
  • Zagatwine.com – 12 bottles for $69.99, $19.99 shipping + applicable tax, FREE set of 4 wine glasses
  • 4SeasonsWine.com – 12 bottles for $69.99, $19.99 shipping + applicable tax, FREE lever-action corkscrew

It’s quality wine and I had a good experience. Have you tried wine clubs? What did you think?

Food Budget Challenge Guidelines

Here are the guidelines for my $25/wk Food Budget Challenge.

Everyone is welcome to participate.  Your weekly spending may vary depending on the number in your household, the grocery stores you shop, your commitment to using coupons, and any special dietary needs.  The point is to #1 monitor your spending and #2 challenge yourself to do a little bit better.  Set a realistic goal and feel good about your progress.

I’ll be posting a video in the next couple of days to share my own circumstances, but in the meantime, here are the guidelines:

1. We will all start with different amounts of food in our pantry and freezers.  This doesn’t count towards the weekly spending and affords a cushion at the beginning. The challenge will be to use coupons to stockpile food and maintain that cushion throughout the year.

2. I will only spend $25 per week on food.  If I attend a potluck or family meal, the food I bring counts towards my $25 because I’m sharing a meal.  I don’t eat out very much at all, but I consider that part of my limited entertainment budget.  I won’t be accepting gifts of food.

3. Using coupons and buying inexpensive staples in bulk will be crucial.  I’ll share all my resources with you here.  Everything will be in the Food Budget Challenge on the menu bar for easy reference.

4. I’ve been planning my meals for next week and will share those with you in the next few days.  We start with the new coupons and circulars on Sunday, January 9, 2011.

5. It’s a tradition for #5 to be blank. To leave room for the future and possibilities ;)

So, are you with me?
